Inspiring kids and teens to volunteer

With the holiday season fast approaching, it can mean school days off and fun in the snow! But what are other ways to involve kids and teens this holiday season? GenerationOn and Hasbro have come together to inspire kids and youth to get involved in community service. To mark the season of giving, generationOn and its partners at Hasbro are inspiring kids and teens to pledge their commitment to the power of service and give back to children in need through the second annual generationOn Holiday Gift Campaign.

Beginning today through December 13, each time a child or teen takes the pledge to volunteer atwww.generationOn.org, Hasbro will donate a toy to a child in need through Toys for Tots. Hasbro has committed to donating up to 100,000 toys through its ongoing partnership with GenerationOn.

"We are so grateful to Hasbro for helping to bring the joy of the holidays to the thousands of children who would have otherwise not received a gift this year," commented Kathy Saulitis, vice president, youth & family engagement at generationOn. "At generationOn we encourage kids to be compassionate, caring citizens and the holiday season is the perfect time for all kids to use their time and talent to do good for other children."

While the holiday season is a perfect time for kids and youth to be introduced to service learning, it is important to continue this not only during the holidays, but throughout the year.
Happy Holidays and we look forward to continuing service projects with kids and youth!
