Disasters happen every day all over the world. During times of disaster, caring citizens want to volunteer to help their neighbors and their community. A Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) acts as a staging area to process and disseminate both spontaneous volunteers and pre-registered Citizen Corps volunteers to affected disaster areas. HandsOn Central Ohio is providing training opportunities to establish a cadre of trained, registered and assigned volunteers who are capable of setting up, managing, staffing and operating a VRC that will mobilize and deploy volunteers during a disaster. Upcoming VRC Training Opportunity: December 7, 20010 9:00 am to 12:00 pm COSI 333 West Broad Street Columbus, Ohio 43215 Please RSVP to Rebeccah Verhoff at 614.221.6766 ext. 130 or rverhoff@handsoncentralohio.org |
