Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) Training
Disasters happen every day all over the world. During times of disaster, caring citizens want to volunteer to help their neighbors and their community. A Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) acts as a staging area to process and disseminate both spontaneous volunteers and pre-registered Citizen Corps volunteers to affected disaster areas. HandsOn Central Ohio is providing training opportunities to establish a cadre of trained, registered and assigned volunteers who are capable of setting up, managing, staffing and operating a VRC that will mobilize and deploy volunteers during a disaster.
