HandsOn Central Ohio Foodline Training

HandsOn Central Ohio's Foodline connects callers with the locations of food pantries and soup kitchens throughout Franklin County where they can go to get a hot meal or as much as a three-day supply of food. HandsOn Central Ohio staff and volunteers assess callers individual needs, including distance from pantry, time of day and any special dietary needs, to determine the best location for each caller. With the help of dedicated volunteers, the Foodline serves hundreds of Central Ohio families each month.

Volunteers are needed to answer calls and provide emergency food referral services to area food pantries and meal sites. Volunteers will interact directly with individuals in need and gain a high level understanding of human services in the community. Volunteers must have good oral communication skills and basic computer literacy. Training is provided.

Please note, this is an ongoing opportunity with a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week for 6 weeks.
