Employee Spotlight: Caitlin

Employee Spotlight

Our Employee Spotlight this week is one of our Community Research Analysts, Caitlin. We want to tell you more about Caitlin and how she is essential to HandsOn Central Ohio. As part of the Resource and Disaster Management department she keeps the 211 database updated and accurate for our Call Specialists so they can pass on the information to callers.

Caitlin came to HandsOn Central Ohio in October of 2010 from Louisiana where she earned her Masters degree in Library Science at Louisiana State University. She studied political science as an undergraduate at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio.

Caitlin is originally from Toledo, Ohio. She is the oldest of three brothers, two of which are twins. She is engaged and will be married this October.

Caitlin enjoys baking, cross stitching and watching movies. Wings and chocolate are her favorite foods.

Her dream vacation would be to return to Italy, where she traveled while spending a semester abroad. Specifically, she would like to revisit Lake Como because it is absolutely gorgeous.

The best advice given to her comes from her aunt. “Always have fun and don’t take yourself too seriously.”

Before Caitlin came to HandsOn Central Ohio, she held a variety of jobs working at Caribou Coffee, Godiva, Barnes and Noble and a religious bookstore.

Caitlin was drawn towards this job because she wanted to put her Masters degree to use organizing and arranging data. She also has always wanted to get involved in the non-profit sector to help people.

Caitlin’s favorite part of the job is the technical aspect of classifying information. She also really enjoys interacting with the community to retrieve accurate information.

On helping people on a daily basis: “It is very rewarding making a difference, whether it is in a direct or indirect way.”

Thank you Caitlin! Check back on Monday for the next HandsOn Central Ohio Spotlight!
