Morning Blog Round up

Part of our goal at the Disaster Preparedness Department is to provide information to citizens about how to prepare themselves in the event of a disaster. Many times, this information comes from our own knowledge and experience. However, there are many other resources available. We follow a number of Emergency Management related blogs here in the Department. An interesting piece on a recent study conducted by the National Commission on Children and Disasters. The study found that many Emergency Managers and hospitals were not equipped to handle the specific needs of Children in the aftermath of a disaster, such as food, shelter, schooling and social structure.
